Allyson E. Berry is proud to call Leesburg home.
A product of the Leesburg public school system, Allyson was raised in the very community she is honored to serve today. From an early age, her parents, L.J. and Agnes Berry, taught her the importance of faith, family, hard work, and giving back. Her experiences at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, along with her involvement in school and community activities, helped shape the values that continue to guide her today.
In 2020, Allyson returned home to Leesburg with a desire to give back to the community that had given so much to her. While serving as Controller at LifeStream Behavioral Center, she felt called to take her commitment to service to another level. That calling led her to public service.
In November 2022, Allyson made history when she was elected as the first African American woman to serve as City Commissioner for District 1. She entered office with a commitment to the F.A.C.T.S.: Fellowship, Aesthetics, Communication, Teamwork, Safety. She listens, builds relationships, and works alongside residents and fellow community leaders to move Leesburg forward. In January 2026, she was honored to be elected Mayor of the City of Leesburg, once again making history.
As Mayor and City Commissioner, Allyson believes that leadership is about more than holding a title. It is about being accessible, listening to the concerns of residents, bringing people together, and making thoughtful and smart decisions for the future of the entire community.
Her service extends beyond City Hall. Allyson remains actively involved in numerous civic and community organizations and serves on several local boards. She is proud to support organizations that strengthen families, promote the arts, assist those in need, and create opportunities for people throughout our community. Now, as she seeks re-election as City Commissioner for District 1, Seat 1, Mayor Berry is asking for the opportunity to continue serving the community she loves.
She believes there is still important work to be done. With experience, a strong commitment to service, and a genuine love for Leesburg, Allyson remains focused on building relationships, encouraging responsible growth, supporting
community investments, and helping ensure that every resident has a voice.
Leesburg raised her. Leesburg shaped her. And Leesburg is the community she is proud to serve.
Mayor Allyson E. Berry is running for re-election because she believes in the future of our city—and she believes that when we work together, we can continue moving Leesburg forward.
Work Together, Build Together for One Leesburg!
